So, Easter came and went.
It was fun.
But…not as fun as it was when the boys were little.
Brennan acted like he was too old to dye eggs or hunt the eggs (he wanted to hide them at Sandi’s, but due to the small number of kids and 524 eggs, he lost that battle, however, he won the “no pictures” battle, he was fast)
Jack wanted nothing to do with the Easter Bunny
And Ethan didn’t want to wear the suspenders I wanted to make him for his Easter outfit.
Luckily, we know that the REAL reason we celebrate Easter is not eggs, or bunnies, or new adorable outfits.
The REAL reason we celebrate Easter is to give thanks and praise to our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ, whose atonement and sacrifice is the reason we will be able to one day return to live with our Father in Heaven again.
So, while my boys growing up is a little bitter sweet, as long as we remember the reason behind the festivities, then the little hiccups of kids wanting to grow up are really not a big deal at all.
