When I was little, I remember my grandmother sending big boxes full of books. They were adventures, waiting to happen. My brothers were into dinosaurs, so often these boxes would have at least one new book about dinosaurs, Paleontologist studies, prehistoric times, etc, etc. I love reading so much, that after I finished my BabySitters Club or horse themed books, I might have snuck a peek at the boys books afterwards.
My brother, Jason, could read and spell the names of the dinosaurs from a very young age (show off. 😉 ) and I’ve always thought that was pretty cool, secretly wished my boys would be able to do that…yeah, that didn’t happen, but they had the same love of dinosaurs my brothers and sister and I had had.
Jack’s second birthday was dino themed and the boys have had more then their fair share of dinosaur themed books….and toys. Oh, the dinosaur toys we have had!
So…all of this is to say..when I heard that ERTH’s Dinosaur Zoo Live™ was coming to the Scott Recital Hall at the Holland Performing Arts Center in Omaha, NE, I was pretty excited. Let me tell you a little bit about this show from the news release:
Erth’s Dinosaur Zoo Live™ gives children the chance to experience what life was like among giant dinosaurs, mammals and insects in live, interactive theatrical production. Featuring a large-scale cast of 16 dinosaur puppets brought to life by sophisticated design and theatrical presentation and puppet mastery, these life-like dinosaur recreations connect children to paleontology in a fun and informative setting.
It’s part animal presentation, part theater during which host Aimee Louisanne brings children on stage to interact with some of the creatures.
So, basically, the audience gets an up close look at DINOSAURS! I wish I was a kid, because I doubt they call on too many middle aged mamas. 🙂 If Jackson gets picked to go up, I will probably geek out a little in my seat. 🙂
