Memorial Day

Memorial Day

I’ve always wondered about the use of the term “Happy” in “Happy Memorial Day”. Is there joy in death caused by war? In the senseless acts of violence?
I am grateful my mother, father,  brother, grandfathers, and many other relatives and friends have returned home. And on this day, I pray for those who were not able to return home to hugs and kisses from their children, grandchildren, wives, mothers. And silently thank them for their selfless service.
